GLASS IS FOREVER

MAY'S ART

ABOUT MAY'S ART

May's art, since 1995, is mainly created from recycled materials. The unique personal seal of May's art nurtures Thomas Alva Edison's motto that “To invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk.”

May, born and raised on Jerusalem hills facing the Judea desert, was always fascinated by the glass manufacturing process creating the majestic material from earth's most basic elements, sand and heat. Following the tradition of ancient Egyptians who began making and using glass for all kinds of purposes, art and craft, from jewelry to vases, May creates her own link in this historical chain. Appreciating the fact that glass can be recycled forever, May collects broken bottles, wine glasses and other junk pieces of glassware using superb expertise of stained glass techniques to create her wholesome contemporary artwork.

May's artistic dialogue with matter and form is currently centered in May's studio in Brooklyn, NY. May's Art is shown in art fairs and art exhibitions around the world.
